Through technologies and more traditional methods, making the sale is all about how we connect in today's marketplace. | Rick Bakas, Director of Social Media Marketing at St. Supery winery. Rick spent eight years creating and managing brands at NIKE before getting into the wine business. He started at the bottom as a hand seller working weekends in a Denver wine shop, then worked his way up through the sales ranks at Charmer Sunbelt wine distributor. After setting sales records in his territory and winning many of the company-wide sales competitions, Rick set out on his own as a wine broker managing brands for Broadbent Selections import company. Rick has had a curiosity about technology and is often an early adopter to new technological movements. In 2008, he introduced the concept of "social branding" where personal brands and corporate brands share a level playing field in social media. In his role as Director of Social Media, Rick has made St. Supery one of the hottest brands online with over 10,000 followers on Twitter, nearly 4,000 Facebook fans and a buzz among young social media stars. | Kathie Barclay is a marketing consultant specializing in direct-to-consumer marketing. She launched one of the country's first loyalty marketing programs for California retailer Beverages & More. She grew their list from zero to 500,000 members in 4 years by applying the key principles of recency, frequency and monetary value (RFM) to target offers to appropriate consumers. After launching marketing and merchandising programs for a number of California retailers, Kathie was the Senior Director of Marketing for Windsor Vineyards, whose wine was sold 98% direct to consumer. She led the direct marketing practice for Benson Marketing Group, where she created and managed client campaigns that increased revenue and profit in direct-to-consumer sales channels. These campaigns included programs to increase wine club membership and retention, using print and email campaigns as well as savvy data mining and customer segmentation. Kathie's graduated with honors from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Her creativity, keen eye for numbers and her overall good business sense help clients focus on the strategies and tactics that produce the most bang for the buck. |

| Ross Goodwin is a twenty-six year veteran of Hewlett-Packard Company in marketing management and internal consulting to executives. He has experience in customer loyalty, VOC, sales support, sales training, service support and new product definition / introduction within the high technology B2B environment. As the corporate customer experience and metrics linkage consultant, he led many cross functional teams in various lines of businesses in the design and implementation of competitively superior customer experiences that drive revenue growth and improved profitability. As the Corporate Manager of Customer Loyalty, he led the successful development and implementation of HP's first B2B TCE survey and measurement system linkage architecture to meet the needs of the new CEO and Executive Committee. He joined the wine business in 1986, leading tours for the public and trade at the historic Christian Brothers' Greystone Cellars in Saint Helena, California. From there he went on to sell wine, first on the supplier side, working with the trade, and later in retail, working directly with consumers. Ray became the Assistant Director of the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in 2000 and earned his Master's in Wine Business from the University of Adelaide in South Australia. His research on the branding of wine regions has been published in the International Journal of Wine Business Research, Vineyard & Winery Management, the Journal of Wine Research, Practical Winery & Vineyard and most recently in the Journal of Consumer Marketing. | Elizabeth Slater is a marketing savant, internationally recognized within the wine industry as a seminar and workshop leader, a speaker, and trainer. Specializing in all facets of direct marketing, her seminars, presented with humor and enthusiasm, are jammed with innovative, useful and easy to implement concepts and information. Through her company, In Short Direct Marketing, Elizabeth works with wineries of all sizes and state associations. While consulting on all facets of creating and implementing marketing and public relations programs and strategies, her focus is primarily aimed at marketing wines directly to consumers. | Jeff Stevenson is the co-founder, President & CEO of Provino Premium Wines, a wine sales and services company. Provino is one of the leading companies in Direct to Consumer telesales marketing, and bolsters a portfolio of some of the most respected brands in the wine business as its partners and customers. Founded in 2007, Provino employs over 20 people and is located in Santa Rosa, CA. Jeff is also a partner and winemaker for Herrerias Cellars, a small, artisan winery producing wines since 1987 from locally grown and produced Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Syrah, Malbec and Tempernillo. Jeff participated as a founding member of the Petaluma Gap, a newly created appellation in Sonoma County that recognizes the outstanding quality of Pinot Noir and other varietals produced in this region. Jeff also has over 25 years of business experience in sales, venture capital, business development and software/information technology. In addition to founding Provino, he is a partner/founder of North Bay Adobe Associates LLC, a real estate development company, and Venture Crossing LLC, a Venture Capital consulting and investment business. Previously a General Partner with Alcatel Ventures LLP, the venture arm of French telecom company Alcatel AG, Jeff headed up all technology investment activity for the Silicon Valley office. He is no stranger to startup companies; he joined both NetManage and Netscape Communications when the companies were both initially founded and were startups in every sense of the word.
